What can I retrieve?
Public YouTube videos, Shorts, and Rumble videos with available caption tracks. For YouTube, the demo asks for captions in the identified original spoken language.
What if there are no captions?
You'll get a clear empty result. This tool retrieves existing captions; it doesn't transcribe audio or translate text. The YouTube API also supports requesting a specific caption language.
Can I use this in my workflow?
Yes. Download the JSON with caption segments and start/end times in milliseconds, or copy the request and add your own API key. The preview is free; a returned live API transcript currently uses one credit.
